Fab Lab House by IAAC

This unique sustainable home was designed by IAAC, all aspects of the home are considered to be eco friendly. The paraboloid shape of the structure is designed to gather and preserve more solar energy than the typical flat panel design. The unusual shape allows it to receive sunlight from almost every angle. The building is modular and being that it is made of wood, it’s relatively light and easy to handle. Each piece is designed using CAD/CAM and is laser cut. Being that the majority of the structure is off the ground and that the shape of the home is aerodynamic, it is my guess that it would do well in areas subject to flooding and hurricanes.

This is for a newly launched cell phone of NTT Docomo, which is the largets cell phone service provider in Japan. Shell of the new phone is wood and their idea is to use domestic woods that are produced after preservative maintainace for Japanese forest. Click on Youtube link.

Pantone Color Forecast - Spring 2012

James Turrell: Meeting (Skyspace) at MoMA PS1

As Turrell describes it: “There’s this four-square seating that’s inside, seating toward each other, having a space that created some silence, allowing something to develop slowly over time, particularly at sunset. Also, this Meeting has to do with the meeting of space that you’re in with the meeting of the space of the sky.”
